MFC Kids Lenten Pilgrimage

We invite kids and their families to join our MFC Kids Lenten Pilgrimage to the Padre Pio National Center. It will be a great opportunity for the kids and their families to learn about and reflect on the life of Saint Padre Pio and have the whole family spend time in prayer at the center. There is NO COST to attend this event.
PILGRIMAGE SCHEDULE
9:30 am – 10:00 am – Arrival and restroom break (We’ll gather in the parking lot and take a group photo).
10:00 am – 11:30 am – Tour of Our Lady of Grace Chapel and Spirituality Center, talk on the life of Padre Pio, with group Q&A, and view introductory film on Padre Pio and our founders (film is 20 min in length).
11:30 am – Daily recitation of the Rosary with Veneration of the Relic Glove of Padre Pio (if you think that the students are too young to recite the Rosary, you could break for lunch at this time)
12:00 pm – Break for lunch (Potluck at the picnic grounds) Restroom break.
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Head over to the second building to check out the museum and do the scavenger hunt (the answers can be found in the museum), and browse in the gift shop.
3:00 pm – Back to the Spirituality Center for the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet (optional) and to go over the answers to the Scavenger Hunt.
3:15 pm – Restroom break and Departure.
THINGS TO PREPARE
- Please have the kids wear their Kids Camp shirt, if they have one. Please make sure to also bring or wear warm outerwear that is appropriate for the weather. We will be spending time both indoors and outdoors.
- Please bring a rosary for everyone in the family
- Our lunch will be potluck so please bring enough food & drinks for your family plus extra for sharing. Bring extra utensils and plates, preferably reusable ones so that we minimize garbage.
